Parental Leave Pay provides financial assistance to eligible working parents who need to take time off to care for a new born child or adoptive new born child. The government – funded parental leave scheme pays the employer the Parental Leave Pay for them to pay their employees by reimbursing the amount through the same payment method used for salaries and wages. This is done when the employee applies for Parental Leave through centrelink including providing their employers details.
