Directors ID

The Director Identification Number (director ID) is a unique 15-digit identifier system created to verify and track the corporate history of individual directors and their relationships with companies. It also aims to protect directors’ privacy by enabling their identification on public registers without disclosing personal information like date of birth, full name, or home address.
Directors will only ever have one Director ID that remains unchanged even if they switch companies, change their name, cease being a director, or relocate within Australia or overseas. Directors must apply for their own Director ID for identity verification which is done through the ABRS website. No one can apply on their behalf. Directors will go through this process once and retain the ID indefinitely.
